Lund University chooses Summon as its Discovery Service

Lund University, which is ranked as the most comprehensive university in Scandinavia according to the Times Higher Education 2011/2012 rankings, has chosen Summon as its primary search method on its website. Lund University is one of Sweden’s strongest research universities and the university actively promotes Open Access to all scientific information. In line with this mission, the Summon Discovery Service has been implemented to provide free online access, without authentication, to scientific research material.

Christel Smith, Head of Digital Library at Lund University, states in a press release from Serials Solutions that the employees have been impressed by the rapid and smooth implementation process. With the implementation of Summon Discovery Service, the University will be able to offer immediate access to its extensive electronic resources.

Summon is a Discovery Service by Serials Solutions. Summon has received a warm welcome in Scandinavian countries and the service has been implemented in several institutes for higher education in Sweden. In 2010 Chalmers University of Technology chose Summon as its Discovery Solution and Blekinge Institute of Technology implemented the service during spring 2011. The service has received its warm welcome thanks to its user-friendly interface, its clear and relevant search results as well as its easy implementation process.
